The SUPER Release Date & New Photos

Well, the plan was to wait until this week to let you all know the release date for SUPER, simply because so few people are on the internet Thanksgiving week, but we were SCOOPED last week – I think by the folks over at Superhero Hype. Oh well. It’s true: SUPER will be opening on April 1st, 2011. That first week we will be in only Los Angeles and New York. However, on the following week, April 8, 2011, we will be in fifteen to twenty of the twenty-five biggest markets in the United States. Around that same time, we will also be available on VOD. And, after that, only God knows – perhaps more cities, perhaps not. It depends a lot on what you guys demand and want. I know I’m going to get questions from many of you asking if your city is going to be included on the April 8th open – the answer is “I don’t know.” The other cities haven’t been decided yet. So if you want it in your city go out there and tell your local theater you want SUPER!

Like I’ve said before, SUPER is a very small film made on a very low budget. All of us involved created this film out of a passion for filmmaking and storytelling. All of our actors, including Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon, Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker, Gregg Henry, Linda Cardellini, and Andre Royo, did this movie for the guild minimums – at the most, they got paid a few thousand dollars – as did I. It is a rough movie, extreme and tender and funny in turns, with tonal shifts galore, and it’s certainly not for everyone. But perhaps it’s for you. And if it is we need your passion in promoting it just like we needed the passion of the folks who created it while making it. So please let people know about SUPER. Tweet links, Facebook photos, post videos on bulletin boards, and tell everyone you know – get the information about SUPER out there.
