  • I remember sitting at my desk at work, typing Fight Club rules on twitter via my iPhone. A very funny time indeed. It’s fun reading back your favorite blogs some time after initially reading them. I remember laughing my ass off at the small containers one, holding up my laptop so Tawny could see the pics that cracked me up. Ah, memories…

    My Top 5 TV shows
    1. Breaking Bad
    2. Eastbound and Down
    3. Louie
    4. Boardwalk Empire
    5. The League
(NOTE: since AMC isn’t offered in HD in my area I decided to put off watching The Walking Dead until it comes to Blu-ray.)

I think I’ll add a category of my own: Top 5 Blu-ray/DVD releases
    1. The Larry Sanders Show: the Complete Series (DVD)
    2. Anchorman (Best Buy Exclusive Blu-ray)
    3. The Thin Red Line (Criterion Blu-ray)
    4. Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World (Blu-ray)
    5. Alien Anthology (Blu-ray)

Oh, and as I previously wrote, My Top 5 Movies
    1. The Social Network
    2. The Kids Are Alright
    3. Toy Story 3
    4. 127 Hours
    5. The Other Guys

    • Don’t know if you have to worry about HD on Walking Dead so much. The color scheme is a little grainy and muddied so I don’t think it utilizes all the appropriate HD colors.

      • Bill Pardys Doppelganger

Yeah, its shot on 35mm film, so the grit and grain is going to be there in HD.

  • Marc

    Your lists are always fun.

My list ( it will be short):

Favorite Movies: Restrepo, Piranha, Kick-Ass. Piranha was hillarious, I haven’t laughed that hard since “Hostel”.

Favorite TV Shows: The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Community, Chuck. Community is on the brink of becoming the most innovative comedy platform on television.

That’s it. I’m looking forward to “Super” next month.

My favorite shows of 2010 probably would be:

Justified – Basically a procedural, but it captures Elmore Leonard’s voice perfectly, and the cast is pretty great. Walton Goggins standing out the best, needs to hit it big soon.
Breaking Bad – Season three was a pretty fucking perfect bit of television.
The Walking Dead – The first season wasn’t perfect, but it was a marked improvement over the source material.
Louie – Just fucking funny, plain and simple.
Supernatural – I think this has become one of the best genre shows on TV, if you can believe it it is actually bloodier than The Walking Dead. It’s built up a great mythology, but hasn’t but hasn’t disappeared up its own ass like The X-Files did.
Terriers – The fact this got canceled is such bullshit. It had great writing and performances, a real shame.

    • I think I have season 1 and 2 of Supernatural on DVD, but I kinda quit around the middle of the first season. It wasn’t grabbing me like I was hoping it would, but for my friends who’ve stuck with it, they’ve eventually loved it. But then the caveat, “It’s no Buffy or Angel, but it’s much better than when it started.” And then that sorta debunks any sort of interest.

      • Bill Pardys Doppelganger

It’s worth checking out, season 3 is where it starts getting really good and 4 and 5 are where it gets kinda great.Yeah, it’s no Buffy or Angel but it’s worthy enough to fill the void left by those shows. Hell if anything just check out season 5 and work back if you dig it.

  • I remember every blog from this list! I don’t know which is my favorite! P.S. And also I still remember all 16 Rules of Fight Club :) Love it :)

  • I played a little of CoD Black Ops. I enjoyed it at first, but then after escaping the Russian prison, I wasn’t sure if I was actually controlling the game (similar to Batman Arkham Asylum). The events were too short and overly story heavy. I just haven’t gotten back to it. Mostly became obsessed with Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. Presently, I’m playing Bulletstorm which I love.

I’m still waiting to play Red Dead, but don’t have a console system.

I think my fave TV shows are:

    Breaking Bad
    Burn Notice
    Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated
    Cougar Town
    The Big Bang Theory
    The Good Guys

Walking Dead was okay. Not sure if there was enough for me to get on board with. They seemed to drag out too much and it was only six eps. It seems like a lot more stuff could’ve happened within that span.

Not sure about tunes. I sorta grab that scene when I can, but I liked

    Murderdolls – Summertime Suicide

The Darlings – Broken Heart Still Beating. But I love the whole fucking album.

American Steel – Tear this Place Apart. I think this was released the year before, but I found it on the 2010 Fat Music Sampler “Harder, Fatter and Louder”.

The Bouncing Souls – Like the Sun

The Other – Ghost Ride to Hell. The album itself starts out like a music score from a horror movie. They sound a little like the minus Danzig Misfits.

I’m sure there others, but can’t come up with them within the 2010 time frame. Also got a shitload of soundtracks, but they’re mostly composer related.

    • I should note that I have not yet watched the 3rd season of Breaking Bad. It will almost surely be in my top 5.

      • Without giving anything away, it’s one of those shows that just gets more awesome as it goes on. I hope it doesn’t let me down this summer.
