Art I Bought Last Night
While hanging out with Mia, Chantal Claret, and Jimmy Urine last night I heard someone say, “James!” I turned around and it was te man himself, Click Mort! He recognized me from the blogs I’ve posted here about the work. I own nine of Click’s pieces, so I’m quite a fan.
Click and I talked for a while about how he got his start making his freaky sculptures with a collection of Hummel knockoffs and a box of barnyard animal toys, and how my forthcoming movie SUPER is really the head of a superhero movie on the body of an arthouse/grindhouse flick – so our work isn’t really all that far apart.
While at La Luz last night behind-the-scenes, I fell in love with another piece – Divinatio by Craig Larotonda, and so I had to purchase that as well.
Even though I got these awesome pieces, there’s still plenty of cool stuff available at the show. Firstly, there are two more Click Mort pieces available, which I also would have bought if I wasn’t already feeling gluttonous with my purchases. Here are just a few more of the interesting pieces:
The Everything but the Kitchen Sync show runs tonight, March 4, through the 27th at La Luz de Jesus.
ALSO: TONIGHT the trailer for SUPER will debut on Yahoo Movies – 7 pm Eastern, 4 pm Pacific. So be on the lookout for that!
Best
James
